What is MCITP?

What is MCITP you ask? MCITP stands for Microsoft Certified IT Professional and this is Microsoft’s new generation of professional IT certifications beginning from the Windows Server 2008 infrastructure and up. The MCITP certificication is comparable to Microsoft MCSA and MCSE certifications, although the MCITP syllabus is much more specialized which allows IT professionals to showcase their particular knowledge and skills in a better way.

The MCITP certification can be gained by achieving a pass in at least one MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist) exam and one MCITP exam but the number of exams all depends on what MCITP specialization you are getting certified in. For instance, if your goal is to become an Windows 2008 Enterprise Administrator you must acheive a pass in 4 MCTS exams and 1 MCITP exam – so 5 exams in total.

By gaining an MCITP Certification, you are backing up your knowledge and skills in working with IT infrastructures, including planning, deployment, maintenance and optimization with a certification that is an IT industry standard and is recognized worldwide.
